Hospital Medicine Augments Operational Structure

by Schumacher Group on March 6, 2012

Schumacher Group’s Hospital Medicine service line has augmented its existing structure with three new Regional Vice President roles, in order to meet aggressive strategic objectives for 2012 and beyond. Please welcome Carl Simmons and Dylan Cutrera to these positions effective March 1st and Rick Aguado on April 1st.

Hospital Medicine continues to experience tremendous growth, and after studying closely the areas where we’ve struggled and where we’ve enjoyed successes, we’ve identified the need for experienced managers in the field who can better serve our providers and client hospitals. This will also augment the recent significant changes in leadership with Dr. David Grace assuming the Senior Medical Officer role to enhance efficacy of our medical leadership.

The HM RVP will operate in a similar fashion to the ED RVP – being directly responsible for the daily operations at the facility level. The HM recruiters and the facility-based Hospitalist Practice Coordinators (HPCs) will now directly report to the RVP. This new reporting structure and new RVP position will better align HM to our 5 pillars and help us better synergize with the ED Regional Operating Teams.

In this restructure, the current position of HM Director of Recruiting will be integrated into the existing structure in the SG Recruiting enterprise to achieve our recruiting goals. Additionally, the dedicated position of HM New Business Development will also be absorbed into the existing ED Marketing Team who will assimilate the HM opportunities into the company’s growth strategies.

As many of you know, Rick Aguado has been with Schumacher Group since Sept. 2006 and has led the division as Director of Operations and most recently Director of HM New Business Development. Rick will bring his deep knowledge of HM operation along with his past experience as a hospital administrator and clinical background as a R.N.

Carl Simmons has been with Schumacher Group since April 2006 and was the first recruiter hired to start the HM Division. Carl has been leading the growing recruiting department as Director of HM Recruiting. Carl’s innate customer service focus as well as his years of experience in Hospital Medicine will serve the Division well.

Dylan Cutrera is the newest member of the HM team having joined our ranks in Nov. 2011. Dylan was brought in as HM’s first Client Manager due to his HR background and years of managing a local cardiology practice. Dylan’s understanding of policies and procedures coupled with his knowledge of the inpatient needs of specialists, have made him stand out during his brief time with SG.

Please join me in welcoming these exceptional employees into their new roles as Regional Vice President and wishing them optimal success.
